A recent Seattle Times article highlights research made possible by the Cascadia Initiative community seismic experiment. The September/October 2015 issue of Seismological Research Letters will contain a focus section on the Cascadia Initiative that includes eight articles presenting results using the first three years of data from the onshore/offshore deployment along the Cascadia subduction zone. This community seismic experiment utilized 60 ocean bottom instruments designed and built by Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and will be complete this fall with the recovery of the Year 4 instruments. Data is archived and available publicly at the IRIC DMC under network code 7D.
Information on the Cascadia Initiative instruments and data can be found on the OBSIP Cascadia page.
Information on the deployment can be found on the Cascadia Initiative Expedition Team page.
